Tunisia, a little country, more than 3
thousand years old limited mostly by the Mediterranean sea and the Sahara, has
known many civilizations: Punique, Roman, Berber and Arab. Urbanism is than old
and culture has been well developed in different cities as Carthage, Tunis,
Kairouan, Mahdia, Sousse, Monastir and Sfax.
Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, is among
the most beautiful Mediterranean area and offers a unique combination of Mediterranean
nature and culture. The conference venue ETOP 2012 will be taking place in the Ramada Hotel
at Gammarth, a suburb of Tunis, located 20 km away from downtown Tunis and 30 minutes from
the airport Tunis Carthage. The venue can easily be reached by car or by taxi from the
International Airport Tunis-Carthage. Taxis, yellow cabs operating on a mete-red fare system,
relatively inexpensive (~10 $ for 20 km) are better than public transport. Gammarth is
situated on the beach near nice cities: la Marsa, Sidi BouSaid and Carthage.
